The IFTB Alumni Association is the official, vibrant community for former students of the Institute for the Blind, Sector 26, Chandigarh. Guided by the powerful motto, "Connecting With Past, Empowering Our Future," we exist to create a robust and meaningful lifelong network for individuals who often go unnoticed in conventional systems. Our core purpose is simple: to reconnect alumni, celebrate achievements, promote essential events, and encourage continuous knowledge-sharing across all generations of the Institute’s family. We are a high-impact initiative focused on transforming the lives of the visually impaired community through a multi-faceted approach. Our alumni are mobilized as powerful Role Models, serving as living examples of possibility and achievement for current students, while also providing critical Social Support to combat social isolation. By leveraging our collective professional reach, we facilitate strong Networking and Career Development opportunities, actively building career pathways for graduates. The Association spearheads several key initiatives to achieve this vision: Creating Career Pathways and Mentorship: Our “Lighting the Way” program provides hands-on mentorship, professional guidance, and vital connections for career advancement. Empowerment Through Technology: By championing “Turning Innovation into Inclusion,” we ensure students and alumni have access to essential assistive devices and modern technological skills. Holistic Well-being: We actively support initiatives in Music, Arts, and Sports to cultivate joy, expression, and strength, encapsulated by our belief in “Fueling Joy, Expression, and Strength Beyond Sight.” Strengthening the Alumni Support Network: This bedrock of our association ensures continuous emotional and developmental support for every member.
